Modern Transformation of a 1960s End-of-Terrace Home – North London
This 1960s two-bedroom end-of-terrace property in North London has been completely transformed into a luxurious four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom contemporary home.
Initially, two separate planning applications were submitted — one for a 6-metre rear extension and another for a front porch over 4 sqm. Later in the process, a proposal for a 4-metre first-floor rear extension was rejected. However, the planning department suggested a reduced 1.5-metre option. After accounting for a 300mm cavity wall, only 1.2 metres remained — insufficient even for an en-suite bathroom.
An appeal was submitted with a full light assessment, and eventually, planning permission was granted for a 3-metre first-floor extension.
The resulting home features a spacious, open-plan kitchen and dining area with underfloor heating, floating stairs, and high-end finishes throughout.

Smart Teenage Bedroom Extension in North London
As part of this North London house extension project, we creatively transformed a compact 3-metre first-floor addition into a stylish and functional teenage bedroom.
To make the most of the limited space, we kept the full ceiling height and designed a loft-style mezzanine bed under the sloped roof — allowing for a double bed sleeping area without taking up floor space.
Thanks to this smart layout, we also managed to fit in:
- a walk-in wardrobe,
- a modern en-suite bathroom,
- and a shower in the main family bathroom — all within a tight footprint.
